John Malafronte sowing seeds on March 13

The planting schedule called for us to start planting seeds on March 13, so despite howling wind and torrential rain we met in the big hoophouse to fill plug trays with soil mix and plant arugula, cilantro, leeks, four varieties of lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, Tokyo bekana, and waido.

Candi Harper filled about 20 seed trays with soil mix, Peter Garnham kept the seeds and labels organized, while John Malafronte and Ira Bezoza tried to plant just one seed in each cell.

The rain let up enough for us to move the seeded trays over to the heated hoophouse and get them nicely watered in.  A good start to the season!
